For this week's addition of "Way Back When-esday," we're looking back to November 2008 when Rich and I were newlywed honeymooners.
This time two years ago we were spending the week lounging around at a fabulous bed-n-breakfast in Savannah, Georgia. We stayed in the beautiful honeymoon suite and were served breakfast in bed every morning, something that I could really get used to. Come evening, there was turn down service so every time we returned to our room, the music was playing romantically low, the bed had been turned down, and the fireplace lit. Again, something that I could totally get used to.
We took in all of the local hot spots including Paula Dean's Lady and Sons, Tybee Island Beach, and the historic town squares located all throughout downtown Savannah. We did the touristy thing by taking a ghost tour one night in which we laughed our way through. We ate at a fabulous burger joint right on River Street called the Moon River Brewing Company. They served a veggie burger that made my new husband quite happy and a Pumpkin Ale (the glass was rimmed with pumpkin pie spice- mmmmm, my mouth is watering) that was delish!
All in all, we had a fabulous time and the week simply flew by! We still talk about it on a regular basis and plan to take another trip back soon. If you ever get a chance to travel to Savannah, definitely do it. The laid back locals, beautiful scenery, delicious local dining, and southern hospitality make the trip all the bit worth it.
Play along with Cheryl at Twinfatuation... it's so much fun to reminisce!
