What's Cookin' Wednesday- Baked Buffalo Wings...

We’re all about Gator football here in the Halquist house. This recipe is another one of my go-to game day foods. These Baked Buffalo Wings are easy peasy and quite tasty too!

What you’ll need:
¾ cup all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon salt
20 chicken wings
½ cup melted butter
½ cup hot pepper sauce (I used Frank’s Buffalo Sauce)

Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and lightly grease it with cooking spray. Place the flour, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and salt into a Ziploc bag and shake to mix. 

 Add the chicken wings, seal, and toss until well coated. Place the wings onto the baking sheet and refrigerate for at least one hour. I did this several hours ahead of time and it works all the same!

 Just before you’re ready to bake your wings, mix together the melted butter and hot sauce, then dip the wings into the butter mixture and place back on the baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes, flip the wings, and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes. The chicken should no longer be pink in the center and should be crispy on the outside. Total baking time should be 40-45 minutes.

These wings come out crunchy, succulent, and way better than anything that you can order from a delivery service. Plus, they’re baked, not fried, making them a little better for you (let’s just ignore the ½ a stick of butter). Notice the vegetarian husband opted for a thin and crispy cheese pizza. Alright by me… more for me!
